I’m pleased to share that after 1.5 years with NEOM Supply Chain & Logistics, I’m starting a new position as Equipment Commissioning Manager with Port of NEOM!
ZPMC has been awarded contracts for ten ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes, 30 electric rubber tiered gantry (ERTGS) cranes and six automated rail mounted gantry cranes (ARMG) valued at over SAR 1 billion (~270M USD / 400M AUD); ZPMC will be working with Siemens Europe to deliver the automation components.
With my port career starting on RTGs and having built, commissioned and delivered a number of STS across various projects, I’ve excited to be returning to familiar territory. However, it won’t be easy, this is a significant project with one of the largest single crane orders for 2023. The scale of T1 terminal is grand and ambitious, with multiple new innovations and technologies to be deployed over the next few years.
Automation features heavily in the design, with many interfaces to develop and implement. It’s going to be an exciting challenge due to the unique features and environment of this remote location.
Port of NEOM will be setting the benchmark as the world’s most technologically advanced, efficient, and sustainable port, serving NEOM and beyond. As the primary seaport to NEOM, it will be a key enabler of the region’s economic growth, providing faster connectivity to local and global markets, strengthened by its strategic location.
